*** America’s Party – Las Vegas New Year’s 2010 ***   (world class)
Place: Las Vegas NV
Details: Back on the rooftops we go, hold on to your hats because the show will be bigger than ever!

50 Grucci Pyrotechnicians will spend a week from December 27th thru New Year’s Eve to install and prepare the many effects planned for this year’s America’s Party Celebration.

12 months in the planning will culminate when Fireworks by Grucci pushes the button as 7 rooftop locations along the world famous Las Vegas Strip become illuminated with effects such as Golden Kamuro, Blue Zig Zag Comets, Silver Glittering Palm Trees, Golden Orchids, Peacock Tails, Red Rings with Palm Pistils, Blue and Silver Peonies and Yellow and Red Reflecting Shells.

This high tech Pyrotechnic production is the largest New Years Fireworks performance in the country.

Fireworks by Grucci has engineered and delivered the precise calculations, tests and demonstrations to the Clark County Fire Department, Las Vegas Metro, the Las Vegas Fire Department and Las Vegas Events to the support the performance to return safely to the rooftops of 7 properties.

Phil Grucci, Executive Vice President, Fireworks by Grucci states:

“We are excited with the opportunity to fill the sky above the world’s largest New Years Eve stage, Las Vegas, for America’s Party 2010!”

“Las Vegas is our second home, we have had the honor to produce 6 America’s Party Celebrations, Las Vegas’ Centennial Celebration and all of the strip’s major grand openings since the Mirage grand opening in 1989. We rest our 6 generation reputation on this year’s performance promising to be a spectacular welcoming to the year 2010.”

Over 10,000 circuits will be initiated to fire the intricate sequences from the 7 locations along the strip. Each circuit is controlled to deliver a split second pulse of electricity to ignite in excess of 30,000 pyrotechnic devices loaded on the rooftops.

Effects such as tourbillions, comets, mines, peonies, chrysanthemums are all part of the core program. Special effects such as the letters L and V will open the performance as a tribute to Las Vegas. Peacock Tails will illuminate the sky during Gloria Estefan’s “Party Time”, Green Popping Peonies will burst overhead during “Star Wars” by John Williams and Red Chrysanthemums with Blue and Silver Peonies will streak down the strip during “God Bless America”.

Each year, the preparation of America’s Party begins with the smoke settling from the year prior. The show is a culmination of 12 months of planning, developing and designing the most exciting and unique effects available in the world. Fireworks by Grucci has two manufacturing facilities (in New York and Virginia) that are in full swing to support the enormous demand of the largest new years fireworks show in the Nation, America’s Party 2010 – A Las Vegas Celebration!

*** 250th Guinness Anniversary   (world class)
Time(s): 17:59 GMT
Place: Dublin, Ireland
Details: Press Release
[December 31, 2009] Today (NYE) at exactly 17:59 GMT, Guinness & Co signed off on a remarkable 250th anniversary year with a spectacular 60 second broadcast live on RTÉ One from St James's Gate Brewery.

Fireworks by Grucci of New York, who have designed and produced fireworks performances for US Presidential inaugurations and Worldwide Olympic opening ceremonies, coordinated the live TV spectacle which featured a 42 metre long recreation of Arthur's famous signature in pyrotechnics across the north facing wall of Guinness Storehouse followed by a spectacular fireworks show from the rooftop of the building. Phil Grucci, Designer and Executive Producer stated "it is a great honor for our 6 generation family to be commissioned to help commemorate this historic event with the etching in pyrotechnics, the famous Arthur Guinness signature at precisely 17:59"

Arthur Guinness signed the famous 9,000 year lease on the St James's Gate Brewery on New Year's Eve in 1759. Guinness & Co broadcast the live TV ad to mark this remarkable moment in its history and as a thank you to the people of Ireland for helping to establish the Arthur Guinness Fund.

In addition to designing the pyrotechnic display, Fireworks by Grucci worked directly with Diageo Ireland Health & Safety officers, the Dublin Fire Department and Gardaí to ensure both fire and structural safety guidelines were stringently adhered to.

John Kennedy, Managing Director, Diageo Ireland commented, "New Year's Eve marks the end of a very special milestone for the GUINNESS brand, from 1759 when Arthur signed the 9,000 year lease on the St. James's Gate brewery to today, where GUINNESS is a truly iconic brand, enjoyed in 150 countries around the world. It was remarkable to see so many people participating in Arthur's Day, the peak of the 250 celebrations. Guinness & Co wants to thank all the people who joined in our worldwide celebrations."
Kennedy continued, "The live TV ad not only marks the end of a remarkable year for the brand, but it's also a gesture to Irish people who helped to create the Arthur Guinness Fund, the next philanthropic step from Guinness & Co., which will help to create sustainable community projects around the country from 2010."

As a remarkable 250th year draws to a close, the Arthur Guinness Fund is a fitting tribute to the legacy of Arthur Guinness and the Irish people who have helped to make it a reality. The Arthur Guinness Fund was set up with the aim of supporting projects and initiatives that are innovative, impactful and sustainable, for the benefit of communities across Ireland.

** Morocco: Sol Kerzner Opens Mazagan   (world class)
Time(s): 2300-2310 GMT
Place: El Jadida, Morocco
Details: After opening two of the most anticipated resorts in the world within the last twelve months - Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai (setting a fireworks world record as the largest display in history) and the new One & Only Cape Town in South Africa - Sol Kerzner has once again awed his guests at his newest 5 star beach resort and casino, Mazagan, in Morocco. The weekend-long opening was set to be a bounty of culture and entertainment, local pageantry, culinary delights, celebrity red carpet arrivals and a breathtaking fireworks display by Grucci. With a driving soundtrack and firework sequences created exclusively for the event, the 9 minute fireworks performance in the resort’s main courtyard, The Grand Riyadh, was designed and produced by renowned 5th generation pyrotechnic experts the Grucci family. The performance was staged from 30 individual locations surrounding the resort from the beach to the golf course as well as the rooftop and all balconies along the inner courtyard.

Challenged with the fog rolling in from the Atlantic Ocean and a very narrow window of opportunity to perform, Fireworks by Grucci produced what was reviewed by the local Moroccan VIP audience as the best performance ever seen and heard.

"It was our great honor to again be commissioned by Mr. Kerzner and his team to deliver the drama and excitement worthy of a Kerzner grand opening. With the sprawling beach front, expansive golf course, undulating rooftop and decorative balconies, the Mazagan Beach Resort was an architectural gem to perform from" stated Phil Grucci, Show Designer and Executive Producer of the performance.
