The World Famous Grucci Family, the "Artists of the Sky," have
been commissioned by New York's Museum of Modern Art and famed
contemporary artist Cai Guo-Qiang to produce the "Transient Rainbow."

Conceived by artist Cai Guo-Qiang and produced by Fireworks by Grucci Inc., Transient Rainbow celebrates the opening of MoMA QNS with a rainbow of fireworks that cascade across the East River, tracking the Museum's movement from Manhattan to Queens. The dazzling visual effect resembled a rapidly moving monumental arch (500 feet wide and 120 feet high), momentarily connecting the two banks at the thundering speed of 100 feet per second.

"I am delighted to work with Phil Grucci again after September 11," says artist Cai Guo-Qiang. I know this is an opportunity to restore people's confidence in the use of fireworks to where they had been before September 11. For those who are involved in this project, including MoMA's commission and support, it is indeed a courageous and bold decision. A great deal of my work involves gunpowder and explosives and through the years I have collaborated with pyrotechnical companies from all over the world to realize each project. Without question, Phil and Fireworks By Grucci are among the best I have worked with."

"When collaborating with Cai Guo-Qiang, our vision for unique and technically complicated presentations is stimulated by our complimentary style and enthusiasm." Phil Grucci explained. "The creative inspiration generated as a result of our relationship is a great reward when witnessing our very unique form of artistic expression."
