DUBAI CITY BREAKS WORLD RECORD WITH FIREWORKS PERFORMANCE BY GRUCCI Jan 6, 2014

BELLPORT, NY
(January 6, 2014)- The Guinness Book of World Records officially certified the Dubai World Record 2014 fireworks performance- commissioned by the Dubai World Record 2014 Committee to Grucci Fireworks --as having set a new world standard, smashing the record previously held by Kuwait. The January 1 New Year celebration included 479,651 choreographed firework effects precisely presented above Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah and The World Islands. The Dubai committee commissioned a 5000-manpower show including more than 200 professionals of different nationalities from the UAE, America, Spain, and China.

The record setting performance was a collaborative 6-month effort with Dubai’s government along with assistance from their civil defense. The show emanated from over 550 locations on Dubai’s iconic man made landscape consisting of the entire outline of the Palm Jumeirah and World Islands. This World Record performance featured customized patterns and effects that shimmered over 80 breakwater positions, 48 Palm Crescent positions, 250 floating platform locations and hundreds of artificial archipelagos. The fireworks bursting over the Palm Jumeirah and World Islands displayed the latest pyrotechnically advanced design, science, and engineering featuring exclusive Grucci Sky Etching™ in Arabic digits, EXPO 2020 (celebrating the recent EXPO award to Dubai UAE), and a “Sunrise” scene of 7 – the 600mm (24’’) aerial shells (the largest ever fired in the UAE). The 14” to 24” “Sunrise” shell components were engineered in the Grucci New York facility and fittingly displayed off "New York Island" on the World Islands in Dubai. These breathtaking scenes and World Record performance was choreographed to an original musical score.

Representatives from The Guinness Book of World Records were on hand in Dubai, together with a global audience of millions, “saw the height of technological and artistic advancement in the craft,” said Fireworks by Grucci CEO and President Phil Grucci. “This feat was both a great honor and a challenge for us. We proved that the artistry must be combined with the latest technology and vision in order to deliver a performance of this scale. All we needed was a visionary to share our ambition to break new ground. In the case of Dubai, the vision is without limit.”
